CAMEROlabs, directed by Dr. Julia Totosy de Zepetnek, is located in Regina, Canada, is made possible through a ~$250,000 Canadian Foundations for Innovation grant, and is housed in the 2500 square foot, $32 million, state-of-the-art Center for Kinesiology, Health, and Sport Complex at the University of Regina. The facility contains specialized equipment for body composition assessment (% body fat), fitness and substrate utilization measures (VO2max, carbohydrate and fat oxidation), cardiovascular health assessment (arterial stiffness and heart health), as well as a functional wet-lab for analysis of blood and saliva biomarkers. The lab personnel have a wealth of expertise and experience in performing body composition, fitness, and cardiovascular health testing, and conduct research into factors regulating food intake and affecting healthy eating across the lifespan.
